The two largest industries in Massachusetts are education and medicine. The Boston/Cambridge area has the largest population of students of any metropolitan area in America. At Harvard University, the statue of John Harvard is the single most photographed statue in the Boston area. Go on the tour of Harvard to find to why this is called “the statue of three lies.” The Harvard library system with over 14 million books housed worldwide is the next largest in the world to the Library of Congress. Harvard’s memorial hall has the largest collection of stained glass of any non-secular building in the world. A Harvard undergrad went on to develop the Polaroid lens, and after he gave money back to the school, Harvard designed its Science Center in the shape of a Polaroid camera.
